Covers: Ellie Goulding Does JT, Franz Ferdinand Gets Grimey, And More
Who doesn’t love a good cover song? People who hate fun…that’s who!
It’s rare, but there’s three floating around this week that I really enjoy.
First up, Ellie Goulding takes Justin Timberlake‘s “Mirrors” on a soulful subdued ride.
Oh Ellie, you are lovely. Not quite “Sweet Disposition” or “Your Song” lovely…but…well done.
Franz Ferdinand gets it. While promoting their new album “Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action“, Alex Kapranos and company stopped by a French radio station for a warmer, more inviting, campfire-ready version of Grimes “Oblivion“.
Imagine Dragons, according to all reports, rocked the Parkway this weekend for the Made In America festival. Have you gotten the Daiquiri stains out of your kitten tank yet?
“Radioactive” is a stadium anthem, so it’s nice to hear it bare and pretty courtesy of Daisy Mallory.
Aww. See the apocalypse can be adorable and twangy, if you only let it.
