In a crowded room of music, there are a few albums that stand out, needing to be heard.

One of those albums is Vampire Weekend‘s “Modern Vampires Of The City“, which I have praised at length throughout the year. However, one that I haven’t lauded nearly enough is Phosphorescent‘s fantastic “Muchacho“.

“Muchacho” is a lush, beautiful, personal album.

Both have been in high rotation for me this year, so it gave me great pleasure to hear Phosphorescent’s sparing, beautiful take on Vampire Weekend’s “Ya Hey” this week.
